Deborah A. Levesque, Ph.D.

Dr. Levesque leads projects and NIH-funded research focusing on the development and testing of TTM-based interventions targeting a range of social and mental health problems, including: teen dating violence prevention and bullying prevention among high school students; partner violence desistance among domestic violence offenders; depression prevention and management among adults who are unlikely to seek formal treatment; and delinquency and substance abuse prevention among court-involved youth. Additional areas of research include resistance to change, informed decision-making, doctor-patient collaboration in care, pain management, and strategies for delivering one-on-one TTM-based coaching and counseling with fidelity.

Dr. Levesque received her Bachelor’s degree from Williams College, Master’s degree from Mount Holyoke College, and her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Rhode Island. While at URI she trained with experts on the TTM as a graduate student and post-doctoral research fellow at the Cancer Prevention Research Center. She is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Rhode Island.
