Off-line Programs
The off-line versions of our behavior change programs use the same content as our online versions but produce a custom tailored printed behavior change feedback report instead of an interactive web session. A printed stage-based behavior change manual is included with each participant’s initial feedback report. Our off-line products do not require users to have a computer or network connection.
Our system can handle a mix of online (user-directed or coach-led) and off-line interventions for each participant. All interventions are tracked in the same database, so if you start with an off-line intervention but then use the online version, all intervention data will be preserved and utilized in future interactions.

- Participants answer behavior survey questions. This can be done with a printed machine-readable answer sheet, telephone interactive voice response (IVR) system, live telephone counselor, or even with a separate web application.
- Completed answer sets are uploaded to our system (in XML format or via web services). Printed scanable questionnaires typically require processing by a fulfillment center before uploading.
- Our system creates a custom tailored printed report for each participant. The printed tailored report and behavior change manual are sent back to each participant.
Differences from Online Programs
- Delayed feedback. User must wait for behavior change feedback due to processing and printing time. Online systems provide immediate feedback and alternates screens of questions with screens of feedback.
- Cost. Processing user answers (converting to XML and/or making web service calls) plus printing and shipping typically increase the cost per intervention compared to the online system.
- Access. Off-line programs have the advantage of reaching participants without network or Internet access.
